Update: 1:26PM THE National Disaster Management Office in Suva is now advising evacuees to vacate evacuation centres in the Eastern Division.

A statement from the Ministry of Information stated that evacuees at Lomaiviti evacuation centres in Moturiki, Gau and Koro Island are to vacate with the exceptions of those families whose homes had been destroyed by Tropical Cyclone Evan.

Commissioner Eastern Lieutenant Colonel Netani Rika said evacuees were forced to leave their homes because of unsafe building structures in the outer islands.

Five evacuation centres were actived in the Eastern Division.
