TELECOM Fiji Limited (TFL) has closed its retail shop and customer services in all divisions until further notice.

The operation was closed at midday yesterday.

TFL chief executive Ivan Fong said although no major infrastructure damage had occurred, it was important to take necessary precautions.

"Safety is most important," he said. "The services in the Central Division will remain closed until further notice."

Mr Fong said the company had not experienced technical difficulties.

"We will try to keep our services up and going. If any problem occurs, we will try to resurrect services as soon as possible."
