LABASA and Savusavu are currently experiencing a power outage.

Commissioner Northern Lieutenant Colonel Ilai Moceica said the emergency response team was working in a concerted effort to restore power.

However, he advised people to take advantage of the daylight and move to evacuation centres if they don't feel safe at home.

Lt-Col Moceica also said strong wind previously felt across the Northern Division had dissipated and that people had started returning home.

"We should expect more showers as an aftermath of Tropical Cyclone Evan and we are warning people to take extra precaution," said Lt-Col Moceica.

"We advise people to monitor the situation in their areas and make use of the daylight to move to evacuation centres if the need arises.

"Conditions in the north are expected to normalise today (Tuesday)."
