PRIME Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama issued an order to all civil servants in the Northern and Western divisions not to report to work today.

Ministry of Information permanent secretary, Sharon Smith-Johns said this was relayed during a briefing via skype with the Northern and Western commanders yesterday. Ms Smith-Johns said civil servants in the west and north were advised to stay home and wait further instructions.

She said the Prime Minister advised that only those working in essential services should be at work and should liaise with their departments. "Civil servants in both the Central and Eastern divisions will report to work throughout the week however any changes will be communicated through the media," she said.
