Update: 3:03PM THE Fiji Red Cross Society is warning the people of Fiji not to be complacent in their preparations for Tropical Cyclone Evan.

FRCS disaster management co-ordinator Eseroma Ledua said people seemed to be taking the cyclone warning lightly.

Only some were making a serious attempt to prepare themselves.

"There are some who seem to be taking the updates lightly, thinking there won't be much destruction here. This cyclone will definitely affect all of us so, please, just be prepared. Don't take the weather warnings lightly," he said.
