THE Digicel Fiji sevens players will not have any break in the festive season as the team management is planning to start their preparation for the Wellington 7s tournament around Christmas.

Coach Alifereti Dere has slated December 26 for the players to undergo a fitness test and January 1 to move into camp for the preparation of the third leg of the 2012/13 International Rugby Board (IRB) 7s World Series.

But assistant coach Timoci Wainiqolo said they would finalise the dates once the 7s team management met next week.

The Wardens mentor said the decision to include players outside the 30-member Fiji 7s squad for the Wellington 7s would also be finalised during the meeting.

"When we meet for a meeting (next week) then we will discuss on these issues," Wainiqolo said.

Former national 7s skipper Emoni Vucago and Red Rock captain Jasa Veramalua have shown fine form in the domestic tournaments lately and are ready for the national duties.

Dere earlier told Times Sport the former reps willing to rejoin the squad could be drafted into the 'feeder team' that would supplement the two main teams eyed for the 2012/13 IRB series.

A poll run by the Fiji Times yesterday saw majority of the fans supporting the inclusion of exceptional players outside of the national 7s squad to strengthen our chances in the Wellington 7s tournament which will be held on February 1 and 2.

Fiji will face Portugal, Australia and Scotland in pool play in NZ.

The national side has been relegated to third spot on 44 points following the disappointing performance in Dubai and South Africa 7s. New Zealand leads the series with 60 points followed by France on 46 points while South Africa and Samoa are on fourth and fifth places with 41 and 39 points, respectively.
