THE Fiji Retailers Association has welcomed the upcoming 2013 Pacific Showcase in Auckland, New Zealand, as an opportunity and trading platform not to be missed.

Association president Himmat Lodhia said the showcase, to be launched on February 2, will be staged on Auckland's waterfront on five Saturdays until March and aims to promote Pacific products and produce including food and beverage providers and Pacific performers.

"This is an excellent trade show especially an encouraging platform for local businesses.

"It's an opportunity to have their products exposed to an overseas and international market," Mr Lodhia said.

"Business development in Fiji has improved over the past year.

"We have noticed a number of new businesses being set up so we are doing above average in terms of progress," said Mr Lodhia.
