A POLICE officer charged with dangerous driving was yesterday fined $150 by the Suva Magistrates Court and his driving licence was suspended for a month.
While sentencing Sergeant Luke Cerenasiga, magistrate Yohan Liyanage told him that his behaviour on the day in question was unacceptable.
The court heard that on July 7 last year Cerenasiga was driving along Rodwell Rd in Suva with few other people in the vehicle and was driving in a manner which was dangerous to the public.
The accused damaged a traffic light and a concrete island on Rodwell Rd after losing control of the vehicle.
Cerenasiga was driving his work colleagues who were passengers in the car to a nightclub located along Rodwell Rd. The matter has been adjourned to January 10 for review.
