Be ready, PM warns

Update: 5:05PM PRIME Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama has urged all Fijians to take seriously the impending disaster that will hit Fiji from Tropical Cyclone Evan.

In his national message this afternoon, Commodore Bainimarama stressed the seriousness of the cyclone and that all Fijians would be affected.

He said every Fijian must be prepared and not be complacent.

"I urge each and everyone of you not to take lightly the warning given by authorities. I call on you to secure your home, your businesses and your properties."

He said people must restrict movements and refrain from unnecessary travel.
