Cyclone Evan moves

Update: 12:49PM SEVERE Tropical Cyclone Evan was located northeast of Samoa earlier today.

It is slowly moving north-northwest and is expected to recurve and move west-southwest later today and directly affect Fiji from later on Sunday. The tropical cyclone has caused widespread damage in Samoa, damaging houses and flooding the roads. Some vehicles were also swept away by flood waters from their parking spot. According to reports, the cyclone has also claimed three lives in Samoa. With the cyclone heading towards Fiji, the relevant authorities have mapped out their contingency plans and officials are on standby. People have also been advised to take all precautions now and be ready.
