FORMER Fiji and Ba defender Alvin Singh left for greener pastures yesterday after a signing up a one- year contract with a club in Australia.
Alvin, who last played for Ba in the Courts Inter District Competition in October, will feature for the Mounties Wanderers FC in the New South Wales State League Division One competition next year.
The 24-year-old represented Papua New Guinea club Hekari United in the FIFA Club World Cup in 2010.
Alvin said the contract was made possible by former Ba rep and his uncle Arif Azam Khan.
He said playing in Australia would be a totally different experience.
Alvin said he was looking forward to the opportunity of featuring at a higher level.
"My aim is to get an A League club contract," Alvin said.
"The standard of football in New South Wales is high. I hope to further develop my skills. This is a big step for me. I will surely miss my Ba teammates." The New South Wales State League Division One is the third highest state level football division in New South Wales, Australia.
