Friday, December 14, 2012

FIJI Interfaith strategy documents on HIV and AIDS, 2013 to 2017, were launched yesterday as a guide for all faith-based organisations' response to HIV.

President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau launched two documents in Suva — Inter-Faith Strategy and the 'Pacific Guide on Responding to HIV for Christian Ministers, Pastors and Communities.

Ratu Epeli said faith-based organisations have risen to the challenge of HIV and taken steps to combat infections, fight stigma associated with HIV and support people living with and affected by HIV and AIDS.

"It is encouraging to note that faith-based organisations have come together, identified common goals and have developed a strategy to reach those goals to prevent the spread of HIV and AIDS," Ratu Epeli said.
