MAJOR sponsor Digicel handed the Fiji 7s team a bonus payment of $30,527 for the second leg of the 2012/2013 HSBC Sevens World Series.

The national side was bundled out in the quarter-finals of the Dubai and South Africa 7s tournaments.

In Dubai, Fiji went down to Wales 5-27 during the plate semi-finals. In South Africa, Fiji lost to Wales 14-26 in the plate final.

The payment was a far contrast to that paid out after the side won the Gold Coast 7s in Australia in October. The Fiji 7s team received $66,778.20 for winning the opening tournament of the series.
