Fisherman on death charge

A LAUTOKA fisherman charged with the murder of a 29-year-old mother of two appeared at the Lautoka Magistrate's Court yesterday.

Rajendra, 49, is alleged to have stabbed Nancy Pillay to death on a fishing boat in waters just outside the Sugar City coast on Sunday night.

He appeared before Magistrate Semi Dalituicama charged with one count of murder.

The case had been adjourned and transferred to the High Court in Lautoka for mention on December 19.

The incident is alleged to have taken place at Bekana reef while the two were on a fishing trip.
