High Court on legal vacation

CHIEF Justice Anthony Gates has ordered a legal vacation for all High Court matters. The legal vacation commencing from December 10 to January 11, 2013.

Justice Gates' directive is pursuant to section 28 of the High Court Act.

The statement said during the period of the vacation the business of the High Court would be conducted as follows:

* No criminal or civil cases or matters would be heard during the vacation except by direction of a judge;

* Ordinarily process would be accepted in the registry throughout the vacation from Monday to Friday each week between the hours of 9am and 12 noon; and

* In cases of special urgency, an application may be made to the Chief Registrar.
