Garbage concern

Sunday, December 09, 2012

THE Suva City Council has raised its concerns regarding the improper disposal of garbage in the central business district.

City special administrator Chandu Umaria said some business owners in the CBD were putting their rubbish out for collection after the garbage had been collected by council workers.

"The garbage is collected before 9.30am and at 5.30pm daily in the CBD. Business owners should be mindful of the time and dispose all garbage in a timely manner," he said.

Mr Umaria said from January 1, garbage from shops would be collected at a time specified by the council. He said the council was doing its best to keep the city clean.
