THE highly-ranked Wardens side have secured a spot in the quarter-finals of the Tai District School 7s tournament this morning.
Tai 7s organiser Apenisa Kobakobau said after the completion of pool games yesterday, Wardens was one of the teams that had made it to the cup quarter-finals.
Kobakobau said it was unfortunate that other tops teams like Red Rock pulled out at the last minute to play in a tournament in Tavua.
"But we had some very good games today (yesterday) and we expect more when we come to the quarter-finals tomorrow (today)," Kobakobau said.
"We were supposed to complete our pool games tomorrow (today) but because some teams did not turn up we've managed to finish all matches and move to the quarter-finals."
Kobakobau said they hoped to learn a lot from organising this inaugural tournament as they wanted to host a bigger and better tournament next year.
Kobakobau said they also wanted to thank hardware company RC Manubhai for coming in to assist them in hosting this tournament.
"An official from RC Manubhai will be our chief guest tomorrow (today) and he will be giving out the prizes.
"So we expect a very big crowd tomorrow (today) as we come to our final day of competition at the 2012 Tai District School 7s."
The quarter-finals start at 10am.
