FLYHALF Rusiate Rokotavo starred for the Police Development XV in their 28-16 win over Army Development during the 2012 BSP Life Sukuna Bowl at Churchill Park in Lautoka yesterday.

Rokotavo was on the radar with his right boot kicking three penalties and a conversion.

Police utilised their opportunities well. The side was quick on the counter. Ball handling was Army's major drawback.

Army lost the ball in contact and on several occasions near the Police tryline.

Police led 17-6 at halftime.

Army hit back in the second half coming within six points of Police. The Army side tried hard to get over the Police tryline in the dying stages but failed to even though Police was reduced to 13 players after two were sent to the sin bin.

Saula Qalomai, Maika Toboa and Rokotavo scored the tries for Police.

Epi Cokonasiga scored the lone try for Army. Fullback Josefa Basudra kicked three penalties and a conversion.

Police manager Nicholas Vosorogo said they had turned the tables around after going down to Army badly last year.

He said the boys drew inspiration from the loss and put on a sterling performance this year.

"We are really happy with how the boys performed today," Vosorogo said.

"The boys were in camp for two weeks. We had couple of players in the sin bin but the others stepped up."

"The players defended well especially in the final moments. We utilised our opportunities well."

"Last year we were defeated by Army. I think that loss inspired the boys.

"We would like to thank the Lord for this victory. For our supporters this victory is for you as this game only comes around once in a year."
