Police confirm death by drowning

Maciu Malo
Saturday, December 08, 2012

THE police have confirmed that the post-mortem examination of the 17-year-old Australian student who died earlier this week has been conducted.

Spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said the results confirmed death by drowning.

"As investigations continue the Fiji Police will not be making any more comments until the investigations are complete," said Ms Naisoro.

Harrison Kadell, 17, was part of a group of 523 schoolies holidaying on Plantation Island Resort. Australian media outlets reported the deceased was partying with friends around the resort pool and was later found dead in the early hours of the morning.

Kadell's death is the second schoolies tragedy this year.
