New Methodists begin walk of faith

A GROUP of people have ventured on a week-long run-a-thon around Viti Levu.

The initiative is called the Joshua run-a-thon and was launched by the New Methodist Christian Fellowship church with the emphasis on reaching out to young people.

The event is aimed at encouraging people to live a more balanced lifestyle.

"We have seen the crime rate increase and so we must try and allow youths to focus their energies on other things," said church leader Pastor Atunaisa Vulaono.

Mr Vulaono said people had forgotten the value of faith.

Fellowship member Maggie Tawake said the event was the first of its kind for them.

"With the theme being ‘Shine, this is your time', we hope the youths make use of their time and join us," she said.
