Students refurbish school

VILLAGERS of Wailotua in Tailevu are thankful for the assistance provided by a volunteer group in refurbishing Wailotua District School.

Wailotua Village chairman Ratu Sakiusa Rokotuitokatoka said they did not expect volunteers from the Volunteer Eco Student Abroad (VESA) to refurbish the school.

Mr Rokotuitokatoka said the school was in a neglected state and needed a fresh coat of paint.

"Many of us in the village rely on agriculture and we do not earn much," Mr Rokotuitokatoka said.

"So we cannot help the school in providing paint and for a volunteer group to step in and provided a new coat of paint is just what we needed."

"The volunteers built a strong relationship with the villagers during their stay and we were happy to be able to assist them during their trip to Fiji.
