Magical Fiji lures

A FIVE-DAY food fiesta is being held at Castaway Island Resort in the Mamanuca Group.

International celebrity chef Elizabeth Chong believes Fiji's first-ever Food Safari will take Fijian cuisine to the international table.

The 81-year-old, who has graced international television audiences for about 35 years and cooked dishes from all over the world, said she was glad that local celebrity chef Lance Seeto invited her to be part of the event.

"There are so many new tastes and experiences that I am glad to have had the opportunity to have discovered that I will take back to Australia and share," she said.

"But food and music aside, I think the people have really struck a chord with me. Their genuineness and warmth is exceptional and unique and coupled with the Fijian food and the outstanding performance by the traditional dance group, I am definitely returning to visit Fiji again soon."
