FIJI'S number one amateur golfer Olaf Allen Jr is expected better his world rankings after winning the inaugural Champion versus Champion tournament in Nadi on Sunday.
Allen Jr has a world ranking of 1317. On Sunday Allen finished the CVC with a total score of 218. He scored 75 in the first round at the Natadola Bay Championship course. In the second and third rounds at the Nadi Airport Golf Club, Allen Jr scored 74 and 69.
He won by two shots from National Golf Association of Fiji secretary Amitesh Chandra. Airports Fiji Limited fireman Anuresh Chandra was placed third.
With the win Olaf will now earn the right to play in the 2013 national events free of charge. He has also set the pace for a spot in the national team for the 2013 Nomura Cup in Thailand.
Vikrant Chandra who won most of the national titles this year has a world amateur ranking of 1427. He is followed by Anuresh on 3015, Roneel Prakash on 3262, Baroon Hussein on 5613 and Munesh Prasad.
