JUNIOR golfers Ufemia Naisara and Baroon Hussein will fly Fiji's flag during the Greg Norman Golf Championship in Australia next week.
Naisara and Hussein were selected on their form this year.
Baroon was a star performer finishing second in the Fiji Amateur Championship. In the Fiji Amateur Foursomes Championship, Baroon finished second with his partner and National Golf Association of Fiji secretary Amitesh Chandra.
Ufemia was judged as the top junior female player of the year.
NGAF secretary Amitesh Chandra said the players received a financial grant of $4000 from the government. He said Ufemia participated in the tournament last year.
"This will be Baroon's first overseas trip," Chandra said.
"Ufemia participated in the tournament last year so she is familiar with the level of competition. We are grateful to the government for their support. Air Pacific has given discounted air fares."
"They will depart next Tuesday and will have one day practice before the tournament tees off. They will return on December 19th."
The Greg Norman Golf Championship will be held at the Robina Golf Course in Brisbane.
