SOME of the country's top sevens teams have signed up to play at this weeks Tai District School 7s tournament.
Word from tournament organisers is that teams such as Wardens, Red Rock, Army, Waimanu and Marist have registered to participate in the two-day tournament.
Official Apenisa Kobakobau said they were still working on finalising the pools and draws for the tournament as some teams still had not paid their registration fees.
"We're asking all team managers to make an effort to please pay the registration fees and avoid missing out."
"We'll be having our managers briefing at 10am at the school and we ask that all managers or a team representitive to be at the briefing," Kobakobau said.
Kobakobau said they had also extended their closing date to tomorrow.
Only the first 32 teams that have paid their registration fees will be accommodated in the tournament.
The Tai District School 7s will be held at the Tai District School grounds.
The tournament starts on Friday and will finish on Saturday.
The champions will collect $2000 while the runner-up will receive $700.
Prizes will also be provided to the losing semi-finalists — $200 while the plate winner will take home $100.
Tournament organisers are also providing special prizes for the best player and the furthest travelling team.
