Tiny tots graduate

Sherita Sharma

LITTLE boys and girls in blue gowns respectfully bowed as they received their certificates in front of their families and friends.

This as the children of the Thumbelina Learning Centre held its graduation ceremony at the Civic Auditorium in Suva last Friday.

The centre is based at headteacher Etasa Delanahome on 155 Nailuva Rd.

"Whatever I have is for the children," she said.

"I have built a toilet block and extended the building at the back, as many more students started to come," Ms Delana said.

Twenty-four students going to class one received diplomas, while the rest received certificates of participation.

Boasting one of the largest graduation ceremonies for kindergartens this year with 54 students, the centre has three teachers who teach students of different ages. The centre has grown over the years from its humble beginning in 1994 from Ms Delana's living room with five students.
