DIGICEL Fiji sevens coach Alivereti Dere says the team would bounce back from its disappointing start at the Dubai 7s tournament.
Fiji struggled to beat Spain 14-0 in the opening pool match but Dere assured fans the side would be a changed one in the final matches later today. With seven new players making their debut at 7he Sevens Stadium, Dere said it would take some time for the new players to adjust to the international environment.
"That's why I used all my substitutes in the second spell against Spain. The players need to get the feel of the atmosphere they are in and we did that in the first game," the former Fiji 7s skipper said.
"With a feel of the atmosphere in Dubai in the pool play, the players should come better prepared in their remaining matches and put up a much improved performance."
Dere said slippery ground condition was another factor that led the team down adding the players were doing their best to adapt to the conditions in Dubai.
He said they wanted to use the platform set in the opening day of tournament to inspire them in the final day today.
"Our main aim is to expose these new players. We will try to give them enough game time so they know what it is like playing at the international stage."
Fiji played Scotland and Kenya in its final pool matches late last night and early today, respectively.
