Governor, thank you very much for honouring us with your presence to open this branch of BRED Bank. We are sincerely appreciative of the guidance, support and assistance that you and your team at the Reserve Bank of Fiji have provided us—from when we made an application for a banking license through to granting approval for commencement of operations today.
You and your team have facilitated our establishment with extreme goodwill, appreciation and kindness.
BRED banque populaire is a significant and strong bank from France. Created 91 years ago, we have 121,500 cooperative shareholders and employs 3,827 people, 357 branches and 905,000 customers in france. It is part of the bpce group - the second largest banking group in france.
