Giant killers on the run

Update: 2:33AM PORTUGAL, the underdog of pool C at the 2012 Dubai Sevens, kicked a penalty to edge England and secure a quarter-final spot.

The shocking defeat of Ben Ryans England, relegated to the plate in a thrilling 21-22 encounter, gave the Portugese heart going into Day Two.

Portugal captain Frederico Oliveira was ecstatic, saying they took their chances and it paid off.

The side beat South Africa, leading 10-7 and losing 10-12 at the final whistle, for the first time.
