AUSTRALIAN rugby league player Kane Evans is honoured to be invited to this year's Style Fiji fundraiser that will be held at the Sheraton Fiji Resort tomorrow.

The Sydney Roosters forward says Fiji holds a special place in his heart which is the reason he did not refuse the opportunity to make his sixth visit to the country.

Evans, who has maternal links to Vanuabalavu in Lau, said the purpose of his visit was to contribute positively to the development of Fiji's health system.

"I was told to come over for the fashion show to raise money for the Nadi hospital," the rising NRL star told this newspaper.

"In fact, I am humbled to be one of the few invited to take part in the catwalk and I am doing this for my love for Fiji and, of course, for the cause of the show.

"This is my sixth visit to Fiji and I reckon this trip is special because I will be meeting with many supermodels and rugby stars."

Evans said he was looking forward to meeting new friends and even returning for next year's event.

"This is a good cause and I hope a lot of money is raised for the hospital. The renovation and the upgrade of this hospital will benefit a lot of people in Fiji and I am honoured to be part of this year's event."

Evans also thanked the organisers for inviting him to be part of Style Fiji 2012.

Tickets to the fashion fundraiser have sold out and the official program kicks off at 6pm tomorrow.
