COMMISSIONER Northern Lieutenant Colonel Ilai Moceica told the Bua Provincial Council some articles on bauxite mining published in the newspapers had often awed readers.

He assured the people of Cakaunitabua that the development at Nawailevu was progressing well and in good hands.

Lt-Col Moceica told the meeting that he had met officials from the Department of Mineral Resources who assured him of the good bauxite mining progress.

He said mining was part of the government's development plans for Vanua Levu.

However, he added some areas may need attention like the jetty and stockpile areas.

Lt-Col Moceica also asked the people of Bua to always inform the provincial administrator's office in Nabouwalu of their concerns.

He added his office would ensure their concerns were addressed.
