THE country's second national volunteer conference in Suva from December 3-5 will present an opportunity for young people to discuss better opportunities for themselves.

Fiji Council of Social Services (FCOSS) National Volunteer Centre (NVC) project officer Neil Maharaj said the youths would actively discuss issues that affected them.

"The conference's purpose is to foster improved platforms for youth engagement, participation and development in communities at all level," he said.

The theme for the conference is 'Strengthening communities through youth engagement'.

"There will be about 100 participants from the districts and will include youth volunteers or workers, youth organisations, members of the National Youth Council and members of civil society organisations," Mr Maharaj said.
