Priorities on health agenda

Felix Chaudhary
Wednesday, November 28, 2012

HEALTH personnel from across the Pacific will convene in Nadi today to discuss workforce priorities and to identify potential partners to support regional countries in addressing these priorities.

The third meeting of the Pacific Human Resources for Health Alliance (PHRHA) will also hold talks on the integration of foreign trained medical graduates into Pacific health systems and future directions of the alliance itself.

Supported by AusAID, the PHRHA was established in 2008 and has developed standard nursing competencies and a draft continuing professional development framework for the Pacific.

The alliance also conducts research and updates the health workforce data to support workforce planning and development in the Pacific.
