THIRTY thousand tonnes of sugar bound for Europe were loaded onto the cargo vessel Oriental Harmony at the Lautoka Port yesterday.
The export is expected to rake in $30million in foreign exchange earnings.
The shipment brings the total amount of sugar shipped so far to Tate and Lyle Sugars to 94,000 tonnes.
Meanwhile, cane farmers supplying the country's largest mill have been commended by the Sugar Cane Growers Council for making every effort to harvest and transport sugarcane to Lautoka.
