THE Fiji Pensioners Association has commended government for hearing the plight of senior citizens in the country.
Welcoming the announcement by Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama to provide pension to those above the age of 70 with no income, association president Hari Raj Naicker said it would enable senior citizens to live and enjoy an independent life.
"Through this decision senior citizens won't be dependent and will be able to support their families," said Mr Naicker.
