Duo follow dad

PROUD dad and former basketball rep Peniasi Kainamoli is happy to witness his two daughters, Tiyana and Donnis follow his footsteps at national level.

Kainamoli's two daughters are part of the Fiji under-19 women's basketball team that will be taking part at the FIBA Oceania Youth Championship in Australia next week. And their mum is the women's team manager. He said he was not surprised to see his daughters make the cut into the final team.

"I am happy to see my two daughters in the team. They are continuing where I left off and I am grateful to them," he said.

Kainamoli recalls that he would always remind the girls to juggle their schoolwork well with basketball.

"I'm not surprised to see them in the team. They have been practising more often. I always reminded them to balance basketball with schoolwork. I always told them that schoolwork is more important than basketball. But I am happy they are doing well. I told them that the sky's the limit," he said.
