$32m for social protection programs

Update: 6:00PM $32MILLION has been allocated for social protection programs next year.

The Care and Protection Program under the Ministry of Poverty alleviation and Social Welfare which targets children will continue with a budget of $5.9million, Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama announced in the 2013 Budget today.

Commodore Bainimarama said welfare graduation schemes had also been allocated $500,000 and these would focus on moving recipients from welfare to workfare.
