FIJI's diplomatic community, expatriates and the Fijian community living in Papua New Guinea welcomed the Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama to PNG on Tuesday night.

Commodore Bainimarama, who was accompanied by delegates from Fiji, was in PNG for the Special Pacific, African, Caribbean and Pacific Leaders Meeting yesterday.

The Fijian community living in PNG was urged by the prime minister to work closely with each other.

"It is certainly an honour to be here in PNG among you, among friends," Commodore Bainimarama said. The prime minister was also grateful for the traditional ceremony accorded to him and the Fiji delegation which had accompanied him on the visit.

The delegation included the Minister for Labour Jone Usamate, Minister for Foreign Affairs Ratu Inoke Kubuabola, the Minister for Primary Industries Colonel Inia Seruiratu and other senior government officials.
