TOKORIKI Island Resort gained international recognition after featuring in the latest episode of American reality TV show, The Amazing Race.

The award-winning show, which after syndication will be seen by more than 20 million viewers internationally, featured Tokoriki Island Resort as a prize for the first team to reach the pit stop.

Tokoriki's inclusion in this hit series is expected to give both Tokoriki and destination Fiji a major tourism boost.

The winning team received a luxury five-night holiday at Tokoriki Island Resort Fiji with flights provided by Travelocity.

The race is split into roughly 12 legs interspersed with physical and mental challenges, and requires teams to deduce clues, navigate themselves in foreign areas, interact with locals, and vie for airplane, boat, taxi, and other public transportation options on a limited budget provided by the show.

Teams are progressively eliminated at the end of each leg, the first of the last three remaining teams to cross the final leg's finish line wins $US1million ($F1.78million).
