CONSIDERED one of the most influential woman in the world, Oprah Winfrey shocked her viewers when naming a Fiji resort as one of her fabulous Favourite Things 2012 during a two-hour show on an American television.

USA Today reported that the African-American richest woman in the 20th century and multi-award winning talkshow final surprise of the night came when she, working with Tourism Fiji, surprised military spouses with a trip to Namale Resort and Spa on Fiji.

The trip includes two round-trip tickets on Air Pacific, along with a five-night stay at the all-inclusive Namale Resort and Spa.

Namale was an award-winning, all-inclusive, five-star resort and spa recognised as the number 1 Most Romantic Resorts in the South Pacific by Trip Advisor's Travellers Choice Awards.

It was also recently recognised as a 2012 Spa Finder Readers Choice, Country Winner. According to PR Newswire, it is Fiji's number 1 resort and spa.

A group from The Conservatorium of Music in Fiji helped unveil the gift to the unsuspecting group of military spouses. It was reported that the music group entered in cultural attire and entertained the spouses and Oprah with a traditional spear dance.
