Health screening vital

Luke Rawalai
Sunday, November 18, 2012

PEOPLE need to visit their nearest health facilities to be screened even though they are well.

Divisional medical officer north Doctor Pablo Romakin said "there has been an increase in the number of diagnosed diabetic patients in the north due to increase in screening and awareness programs, where more and more people are now coming to our health facilities for screening".

Dr Romakin said the north would be part of celebrations during the Non-Communicable Disease Awareness Month.

"Our team will be visiting areas like Lekutu, Wainikoro, Taveuni and Bua for awareness campaign programs."
