Digicel awards Raqamate

WARDENS and Digicel 7s halfback Joji Raqamate was yesterday presented with Digicel's latest phone in the market — the Samsung Galaxy S3.

Digicel marketing manager Sheryl Singh had promised the national sevens team during the Gold Coast 7s tournament that she would give the player of the tournament the latest phone Digicel has in the market.

Yesterday, Raqamate was presented with his new phone during the press conference to announce the 12-member team to play in the next leg of the 2012/2013 IRB Sevens World Series in Dubai and South Africa.

Singh said the only reason it took so long to fulfil that promise was the delay in getting the new phone into Fiji.

"During the tournament, I had a feeling that the team would win so I made a promise to them that I will give away the latest technology we have in the market to the player who is named the best player of the tournament," Singh said.

"I'm happy to say that the new Samsung Galaxy S3 has just arrived into the country today and is likely to be retailed at Digicel at around $2400."

Raqamate was also named in the team for Dubai and South Africa by coach Alifereti Dere.
