THE organisers of the Chow Games central zone are hopeful good weather will prevail when they hold their competition today.
The central zone competition will be held at the Suva Grammar School grounds and Veiuto Primary School grounds. The president of the Central Primary Schools Chow Game Committee, Tui Maloni said weather would be an important factor for the games students run on the grass tracks.
"Since we are not using the rubber tracks this year, we just hope good weather will prevail," he said.
"We have checked the grounds and they are in good condition and we hope it doesn't rain tomorrow (today) because muddy tracks can cause injuries and the safety of the children is paramount."
Over 1000 athletes from 13 schools and two districts will compete in the one-day event.
The central zone competition starts at 8.30am.
