THE upcoming Pacific Cup soccer tournament will give local players a medium to showcase their talents to scouts from clubs in New Zealand, Australia and the Oceania.
The inaugural tournament is a brainchild of the NZ Fiji Football Inc. and Australia Fiji Soccer Association (AFSA) and will be held from November 21 to the 25 in Auckland, New Zealand.
Ba, Lautoka, Nadi and Labasa will be local teams that will feature in the tournament. The fixtures were revealed earlier this week and Ba and Lautoka have been drawn in Pool A with AFSA of Australia, Nadi NZ and Kiwi Enterprise Labasa. Pool B will see Labasa and Nadi face off with Waitakere of New Zealand, Nasinu NZ and Navua NZ.
Interim acting secretary of NZ Fiji Football Inc. Mohammed Asaf said soccer lovers in New Zealand were eager to watch the Fiji teams in action in the tournament.
