THE Fiji Police Force has requested government for an increased budgetary allocation for 2013.

Confirming this yesterday, Police Commissioner Brigadier General Ioane Naivalurua said they made their submissions to the government.

Brig-Gen Naivalurua said the force had requested for an increased budget allocation to meet their needs to work smartly and focus on identified areas of improvement. "We want to improve our infrastructure and focus a lot on training our officers next year," he said.

The force was allocated $85million in the 2012 National Budget.

The 2013 national budget will be announced on November 24.
