TWO people suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospital yesterday when a bus from Shore Buses Limited and a truck collided at Lovonilase, before Delainavesi at 7:45am.

According to police, both vehicles were on their way to Suva.

The police reported that the bus had pulled over to the bus bay at Tamavua-i-Wai to pick passengers. After doing so, the driver pulled back onto the road but was hit by the truck. "When he (the truck driver) applied the brakes to stop the truck skidded and hit the back of the bus," police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said.

"The driver was taken to hospital for observation. He was alone in the vehicle," Ms Naisoro said.

Witnesses confirmed a passenger sitting in the back of the bus was also taken to hospital. Ms Naisoro said they were conducting investigations to establish which driver was at fault.
