HOME Finance Company Limited (HFC) recorded more than $3million in profits this year.

HFC chief executive officer Isikeli Tikoduadua said this was the first time in its 50 years that the company has recorded such positive figures.

"We are very happy about this achievement because it is testament of the work put in by their staff,"Mr Tikoduadua said.

"This is another milestone for us. The money that we gain will at the end of the day benefit the people of Fiji because we are owned by the Fiji National Provident Fund and much of our profits go back to them."

"This year we were able to achieve $3.783million in net profit and our total net gross was more than $5million," Mr Tikoduadua said.

He said the company expected to achieve more positive growth next year.

"For 2013, our business looks very positive and one we also expect to be very challenging but we are excited about the future of the company and we are happy to work with the current government in moving the country forward."

HFC Ltd also celebrated another milestone over the weekend winning the Fiji Business Excellence Prize Award — another first for the company.

"This year was the first time that we registered for this award and for us to win the award on our first year is testament of how our team works and how dedicated we are to achieve the best not only for the company but also for the people of Fiji."
