Police investigate body find

THE body of an iTaukei man was found floating outside the Savusavu wharf yesterday.

Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said the body was discovered by a family who were traveling towards the wharf on a fishing trip.

"The body of the deceased who is in his 20s was discovered by the family around 11am floating at the wharf and police were notified straightaway," said Ms Naisoro.

"The deceased has been positively identified by his workmates and he is known to be a native from Tailevu and was working in Savusavu."

"The body of the deceased is currently at the Savsuavu Hospital awaiting post mortem examination to determine the actual cause of death."

Ms Naisoro said it was too disclose information regarding the deceased and that they were awaiting post mortem examination results to determine the cause of death.
