Wednesday, November 07, 2012

CIKOBIA Island in the province of Macuata is remotely situated off Udu Point and any visitor to the island will marvel at how people still manage to lead

normal lifestyles despite their remote location. During a recent tour of the island, government officials got to learn of the difficulties faced by the villagers

on the island. Touring visitors onboard the MV Iloilovatu got to witness first-hand the ugavule (coconut crabs) for which the island is famed for.
