STAR-studded Shop N Save Blues FC will be aiming to win all their four remaining matches this weekend in order to qualify for the semi-finals of the Lautoka Football Association local league competition.

The Blues haven't fared well in the local league this year despite having a host of district reps.

Jone Sorolo, Alifereti Baleiloa, Jone Vonu Jr, Semesa Nakosia, Valerio Nawatu, Jone Kaloutani, Mitieli Namuka, Salesh Samy Bula, Arvindra Naidu, Alvin Pratap and Alvin Avinesh are all registered with Blues FC.

The Blues FC have 19 points and is ranked seventh on the local league points.

LFA local league director Azail Izaz Ali said the side faced difficulties fielding a full squad in their matches.

He said with a semi-final spot in sight, the Blues FC side would be hard to stop in the final rounds.

"There will be a lot to play for this weekend," Ali said.

"Press leads the competition and a win should seal their semi-final spot. FC Education, Rifle Range, Vitogo Youth, Babu's United and Blues FC are all in the running for the top four placing."

"The clubs will be aiming to qualify for the semi-final and then fight for a spot in the final which guarantees them a place in the National Club Championship playoffs.

Last year Lautoka was not represented in the NCC. Tigers Megs and United Sangam had qualified for the NCC playoffs but pulled out because of financial constraints.

Ali thanked the referees from Nadi and Lautoka for helping them complete the competition.

He said the semi-finals would be played at Nadovu Park on Monday.
